Your Community Partner: Your Journey Home begins with Castle Homes

With more than twenty years of building experience, founder and president of Castle Homes, Alan Looney, creates dream and “castle like” homes for his clients throughout middle Tennessee. Alan was inspired at a young age to create the beautiful homes he does today. “Growing up in Weatherford, Texas, my high school was very unique and offered architectural drafting and mechanical drafting classes which ignited my love for building. I actually won a contest as a senior and went on to continue my studies in college. Ultimately, I earned an engineering degree and began my career in cost-estimation for General Dynamics. Now, after building homes for the past twenty-five years, this attention to cost and to detail is one of the foundations of Castle Homes which clients greatly appreciate and respect,” Alan explains.

The Castle Homes team are more than just home builders. They strive to connect with their clients, the community and build relationships with everyone they work with. It is important to them that your dream home is carefully constructed and that all your elements of the home have fallen into place. Before they begin their work, they connect with their team and interior designers to discuss budgets and make sure their clients know what they are working with. “Castle Homes has distinguished itself from other firms with our design-build expertise and we produce a gorgeous home with a guaranteed price. This process is so much more enjoyable for the client as it takes out the unknown from what they are receiving and what they are spending. We don’t have unforeseen overruns due to our estimating and level of detail before the first speck of dirt is moved. Our love for architectural integrity also sets our homes apart. From English Tudor and French to Contemporary and Italianate, we capture unique architectural elements with a style that ultimately reflects the way in which our clients live,” Alan says.

Castle Homes’ professional project managers and degreed interior designers utilize the design build process with meticulous pre-construction planning, comprehensive budgeting, combined with the latest in client interfacing web technology to produce master craftsman homes of timeless quality. As certified green professionals, Alan and his team ensure each home operates with energy efficiency within the standards set by the United States Green Building Council. Alan and his wife and partner, Heather, are also members of a national builder peer group where they regularly travel to major markets in the United States and Canada to learn about new standards, technologies and trends in the custom home-building industry.

Alan’s achievements have been accomplished as he weaves his industrial engineering background and cost analysis experience to create a synergy of impeccable detail and quality for Castle Homes’ custom building and neighborhood developments. In 2012, Castle Homes was named Southern Living magazine’s Custom Builder of the Year for their work producing the Nashville Southern Living Showcase Home. This honor helped land Castle Homes the prestigious build of the nation’s only 2013 Southern Living Idea House at Fontanel in Nashville – the magazine’s most ambitious build to date. The team followed this up with the hugely successful Nashville Symphony Show House benefiting one of Nashville’s greatest treasures.

The team will return for the Pinnacle Financial Partners Parade of Homes in the new Witherspoon neighborhood of Brentwood, Tennessee and will run from October 7th through the 22nd. “Inspired by the great British architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, our English Country Parade of Homes house will be unveiled in October and will be stunning. With incredible craftsmanship and an ode to the English Arts & Crafts vernacular, the home weaves outside and the inside architecture seamlessly with a very livable floor plan. I’m very proud of our in-house designers for the great attention-to-detail in the three-level home as well as our entire building team. When Rozanne Jackson and her Iron Gate team finish styling the interiors and adding their gorgeous furniture and furnishings, it will be a real show stopper with tons of great inspiration for visitors,” Alan says.

Being involved with the community is very important to Alan and his team. “We’ve been blessed by incredible growth and relationships. Giving back to our community is a priority. Annually, we sponsor and assist with a Habitat for Humanity build. As we began launching premier home events, the Ronald McDonald House benefited from our Southern Living Showcase House. St. Jude’s was the benefiting charity from our build of the national Southern Living Idea House,” he says. “Most recently, we established the Nashville Symphony Show House benefiting one of our city’s greatest treasures. One of the foundations of our country’s economy is home building which grows businesses and jobs, helps people achieve the America dream; and, it is right that part of this equation for a home builder includes giving back to our community.”

Alan loves calling Williamson County home and is honored to be a home builder in our community. His commitment to his clients and team is relevant in the Castle Homes built. “Most people agree that Williamson County and middle Tennessee are great places to live, work and play. The people are friendly and Castle Homes is honored to be creating houses and communities which reflect this unique way of life. Ultimately, we aren’t just building a home for today but creating a house which will be part of the future architectural history of the area,” he says.

Alan says that the homes they create are based on historical precedent with a fresh design perspective, which achieves a home with architectural integrity reflecting the way in which families want to live today. “We are proud of every home Castle has created for our valuable clients who have become friends and our greatest supporters. Our homes have earned local and national media coverage and we think they are all beautiful, award-winning and cover worthy! And, when you step into a Castle Home, you’ll see the cornerstone marker at the door so future generations will know this home is special.”
