The Spring Hill Memorial Day Celebration will consist of five wonderful events that will take place on Saturday May 23rd, at the City’s brand new 30 acre park, called Port Royal Park, located at 4285 Port Royal Rd. The festivities will kick off at 8AM and go until 10:30PM.
At 8:00AM the fun kicks off with a charity kickball tournament, for children and adults, called Kickin’ N Pickin.’ This fundraiser for The Rotary Club of Spring Hill & Thompsons Station will include great live Country/Americana musical performances by The Brian Collins Band, Crosby Lane & Spring Hill’s very own… Amber’s Drive!
At 10AM, The City of Spring Hill will host a Park Dedication Ceremony for the Grand Opening of Port Royal Park & Fire Station #2. During the dedication, The City will turn on the Splash Pads for the first time, so children can get wet and have some fun in the sun!
At 2:00PM, the City of Spring Hill will host a Memorial Day Ceremony in remembrance of all those who served and paid the ultimate price for our Country’s freedom.
At 4:30PM, our Summerfest concert series will open with the groovy, harmony rich sounds of 60’s-80’s Classic Rock Cover Band, “Vinyl Radio!” Don’t forget your folding chairs and blankets, so you can relax and enjoy the concerts.
Now, for those of you who attended Summerfest last year, you may recall the soulful sounds of The Scat Springs Band. Well…The Scat Man…and his eight piece band is back! And, prepared to bring the sounds of Motown to “The Hill” once again, starting at 6:30PM.
Following Summerfest, kick back under the stars and enjoy a wonderful, family friendly Movie in The Park, on our big, outdoor movie screen. The movie will start at 8:30PM.
Also, some of the areas finest food trucks will be at the park all day, serving up some delicious food and treats! And, if you have little ones that love to bounce, bull ride, bungee jump and meet Disney Princess Characters, they will love our Kids Zone area which will be open from 10AM-8PM! Again, all the fun will be free and family friendly!
