The Juneteenth celebration, presented by @aahsofwilliamsoncounty, brought together a number of festivities and even figures such as Abe Lincoln and Frederick Douglass made an appearance! The American Legion Post 215 raised the American and Juneteenth flags in honor of the holiday.

An Evening With Friends of @wcanimalcenter 🐾

July 31st will mark the eighth annual “An Evening with Friends,” presented by @marsglobal Petcare, benefiting the animals of the Williamson County Animal Center. Through 6, 2026, America the Beautiful: National Parks & Landmarks By Rail will be on display as the largest, most elaborate model train exhibition ever presented at @cheekwood!

In conjunction with Cheekwood’s ongoing celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the immersive installation takes visitors coast to coast through some of the nation’s most
treasured sites. Spanning the entire center lawn of the Bradford Robertson Color Garden, the exhibition features 10 running trains, more than 850 feet of track, and 25 intricately
crafted models of iconic landmarks and national parks.

Today, we remember the life and legacy of Judy Hayes.

A fourth-generation Williamson Countian, Judy spent her life sowing seeds of service across the community she’s always called home.

Judy was appointed to the Williamson County Commission in 1986, where she served for nearly thirty years. Her imprint is seen countywide: She helped establish the @wcanimalcenter, led the creation of Veterans Memorial Park, developed the Williamson Recycles program and promoted the building of the Agricultural Exposition Park. She even co-discovered the land that would become Timberland Park on the Natchez Trace.

Judy was instrumental in shaping the Broad Based Tax Relief for the Elderly program and served on boards guiding land purchases for schools, parks and recreation centers. She also helped merge three local chambers into @williamson_inc, becoming the first chair of the Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Judy Hayes was a visionary, yes, but more than that, she was a neighbor, a mentor, a memory keeper and a reminder of what community care really looks like.

New Campus, New Growth 📝

In the fall of 2025, @franklin_classical_school officially moved into its new home, located in the heart of the Cool Springs area of Franklin. “The mission of Franklin Classical School is to raise the next generation of Christian leaders,” says Tom Carson, Headmaster of FCS. “It is tremendously exciting to now have a beautiful new home in which to grow and carry on that wonderful mission. We would love for you to come visit our campus and experience this new era at FCS.”

The Franklin Rodeo, proudly produced by @franklinnoonrotary, is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year. Since 1949, the rodeo has brought cowboys and cowgirls from around the world to Williamson County.
