Can't Help Falling in Love

Elvis Weddings at Rhinestone Wedding Chapel

The classic song, “Can’t Help Falling in Love,” is played at wedding ceremonies across the globe. But it makes you wonder: Did Elvis really intend for his music to be played quietly on a cello?  Or plucked out on a harp? Wouldn’t he want his music sung as it was originally intended? HIS voice. HIS style. HIS sideburns? What if, instead of a violin at your wedding, you had the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll himself?

Well, at The Rhinestone Wedding Chapel, your dream can become a reality. Located in Nashville, this quaint little chapel is a popular location for the iconic Elvis-themed Wedding. Decorated with chandeliers, velvet curtains, and gold detailing, the place is elegant while still allowing the Elvis vibes to thrive. The chapel provides you with your very own Elvis officiant, dressed to the nines in a glam jumpsuit, with glasses, slicked back hair, and of course, that smooth, deep voice. I mean, what more could you possibly want?

But you can’t let Elvis do all the work, you’ve got to have some fun with it too! Full Nashville glam is the dress code for an Elvis wedding, so pull out your fringed leather jackets, your best dance moves, and pretty much anything that sparkles. Some of the more daring grooms may even want to dress up as Elvis themselves, but not every bride is into bell-bottoms, so tread carefully.

Elvis weddings are very theatrical affairs, as you may imagine, and are certainly not for everyone. They are for the more casual brides with a “Burning Love” who want to have a good time and enjoy some laughs on their big day. They are light-hearted and fun, offering an experience you will never forget.

Now, this wedding trend is unsurprising for Nashville, a place full of singers, songwriters and, of course, many adoring fans of the King. But it wasn’t Nashville or even Memphis that first started this trend; the first wedding officiated by an Elvis impersonator took place in Las Vegas in 1977.

As the story goes, Elvis made a surprise visit to a small chapel on Las Vegas Boulevard in hopes the location would work for his wedding. The chapel proved too small for his guest list, but the moment was not forgotten, and when the legend himself passed away, the chapel's owners renamed it Graceland Wedding Chapel. That same year, they performed the first Elvis officiated wedding ceremony, and ever since then, people have continued the tradition of Elvis Weddings. So, if you’re looking for something a little different for your wedding, maybe an Elvis-theme is for you!
