How long have you lived in Williamson County and what makes it feel like home to you?
I’ve lived in Williamson County my entire life, and my family has had roots here for multiple generations. That history and connection make it more than just where I live; it’s truly home. What makes Williamson County special to me is the people and the sense of community. Even with all the growth over the years, it still holds onto the values, relationships and hometown spirit that make it such a special place to raise a family and build a life.
What is your profession, and what led you to choose it?
I’m a partner alongside my brother at Wilson & Associates, a surveying and engineering company that has been serving Williamson County and the surrounding area for fifty-four years. I grew up in the business and honestly don’t remember a time when I wasn’t around it. I officially started on the payroll when I was twelve years old, working after school, in the summers and anywhere I was needed. You could say I started out as cheap child labor. Over the years, that experience gave me a deep appreciation for hard work, relationships and serving the community where we live. Being part of a family business that has helped shape and support this area for decades is something I take a lot of pride in.
Three words that best describe you.
Driven, loyal, dependable.
What keeps you motivated and inspired?
My family is my biggest motivation, without question. Professionally, I’m inspired by seeing the people around me grow. Watching our teams continue to learn, develop and succeed is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do. I spend a lot of my time on the sales and relationship side of the business, so I truly enjoy the opportunity to connect with clients and communities across the region, from Williamson County to West Tennessee and even Asheville, North Carolina. I also enjoy visiting our other offices in places like Cookeville and Johnson City. Building relationships, supporting our teams, and seeing the impact of our work across different communities is what keeps me motivated every day.
What organization(s) are you involved with and why?
I stay involved with organizations connected to the construction and transportation industry, as well as local community efforts that make a positive impact. One that is especially meaningful to me is One Generation Away and the work they do to help provide food to families in need across Middle Tennessee. I enjoy being around people and organizations that are focused on growth, service and improving the communities we live and work in. Giving back and building meaningful relationships has always been important to me.
What is the one thing you do not go a day without?
Connecting with my family and coffee. Every day starts with a cup of coffee and watching the sunrise before everything gets moving. No matter how busy life gets, staying grounded and making time for the people closest to me is something I never take for granted. Family is what keeps everything in perspective for me.
Finish this statement: I AM Williamson because…
I AM Williamson because I believe in community, hard work, family values and investing in the people around you. Williamson County is a place that continues to grow while still holding onto the relationships and character that make it feel like home.
