First Impressions with Color

Many work hard on their home’s curb appeal. Planting bushes, trees and florals. Finding the perfect exterior lighting. Aligning pavers perfectly. But the focal point of the home is the front door, and you can make your front door have meaning.

Did you know that your front door color says a lot about the residents within the home? It’s not all about the bench, the wreath, the mums - though those add a lot of character - but a statement can be made by a simple color choice. So, what color are you choosing for your front door?

Black: A black door creates a classic, sophisticated look. It can give a home a sense of strength and elegance while pairing well with nearly any exterior style.

Blue: Blue gives a home a calm, peaceful feel. From navy to soft blue, it is often associated with trust, relaxation, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Gray: Gray is subtle, versatile, and sophisticated. It can create a balanced, modern look without being as dramatic as black.

Green: Green brings a natural feel to a home's exterior. It is commonly linked to growth, health, renewal, balance, and prosperity.

Pink: Pink adds a playful and welcoming touch to an entrance. Depending on the shade, it can feel soft and warm or bright and full of personality.

Purple: Purple makes a front door stand out. It is often associated with creativity, individuality, luxury, and a willingness to do something different.

Red: Red is bold, warm, and energetic. It has long been associated with hospitality, while in Chinese culture and feng shui, it can represent good fortune, energy, and protection.

White: White gives a front door a fresh, clean appearance. It works well for both traditional and modern homes and is often associated with simplicity and order.

Yellow: Yellow adds instant cheer to a home's entrance. It is often associated with happiness, optimism, warmth, and a friendly personality.
