As we enter a new year, there’s no better time to reflect on how you can give back and get involved. One incredible way to start is by supporting My Friend’s House (MFH), a group-care facility dedicated to providing temporary, short-term residential support for at-risk boys aged twelve through eighteen. From volunteering to attending their signature events, there are so many ways to make an impact.
Volunteer Opportunities
If you’re looking for meaningful ways to engage with the community, My Friend’s House offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. One event to volunteer with is their Chef of the Night. This special event brings together local culinary talent and community support to raise vital funds. Volunteers are essential in ensuring the evening runs smoothly, from setup to service.
Mentorship Programs
Becoming a mentor for the boys at My Friend’s House is a deeply rewarding experience. Your guidance and support can provide them with the confidence and tools they need to build brighter futures.
Event Support
Help by volunteering at events like the ongoing gardening program, after-school tutoring, field trips or work-to-learn programs. Whether it’s planning, decorating or sharing skills, your time and effort help make MFH events successful.
Facility Assistance
Roll up your sleeves and help with maintenance, landscaping or organizing donations. A well-kept facility creates a welcoming environment for the boys.
Join the "Friend of a Friend" Program
If you’re unable to attend the Mardi Gras Ball, consider joining the "Friend of a Friend" monthly giving program. Your recurring contributions provide consistent support for the boys and the facility, helping ensure they have access to the care and guidance they need.
By supporting My Friend’s House, you’re helping to create a safe and nurturing environment for boys in need. Your time, resources and support go a long way in helping them develop the skills and confidence to succeed. Make 2025 your year of gift-giving! As the new year begins, we hope one of your goals is to give back to our wonderful Williamson County community. Whether it’s through volunteering, donating or attending the Mardi Gras Ball, My Friend’s House is a fantastic place to start. Looking for a way to give back while having a great time? The 2025 Mardi Gras Ball, hosted by My Friend’s House, is the perfect opportunity. Celebrating its twenty-first year and taking place on February 8th at Liberty Hall in the Factory at Franklin, this elegant event will feature dining, dancing and the crowning of the royal court. Proceeds from the evening directly support the boys at My Friend’s House.
This year’s Royal Court includes three distinguished couples competing for the honor of King and Queen by raising funds:
Matt & Julie Brown
Andrew & Kayla Butts
Brian Button & Jeff Molyneaux
Every dollar donated in their names through ticket or table sales, sponsorships and donations brings them closer to the crown while helping fund critical programs and resources for the boys. Be sure to attend and cast your support for your favorite couple while enjoying an unforgettable evening.
